Elderberry refers to the berries or, more accurately, drupes, of the elder tree. In Europe, the berries are commonly used to make syrups, jams, wines and cordials, and are also baked into pies and pastries. Elderberries are also a colorful and delicious addition to tea blends. Description
Elderberry is a species of small shrub in the honeysuckle family that produces hanging clusters of dark purple fruits.
The dried, powdered berries are sometimes used to make tinctures and extracts, but more commonly to make capsules, tablets and throat lozenges.
